Getting There

York to Kendal - 120 Miles

Departing York on the A59, the riders will head west, avoiding major trunk roads as far as possible.

At Green Hammerton we will turn towards Boroughbridge as we travel through beautiful Yorkshire Market Towns on the way to our first stop at Scotch Corner.

The route will go through:

Boroughbridge

Ripon

and continue, into the splendor of The Yorkshire Dales.

This rural area is lucky to have the support of The Yorkshire Air Ambulance which cut journey time to hospital to a minimum in the event of any emergency.

Our journey continues through Masham, Middleham, Leyburn and Richmond as we look forward to a coffee and bacon buttie on arrival at Sedbury Lay-by, Scotch Corner.

From here we head along the A66 (maybe dreaming of the chance to ride the real Route 66). At Brough, we turn South and make for Kirkby Stephen and onward to Tebay. We hope the weather is better than in this photograph!

Lunch beckons, and from here, it is only a short hop  to our arrival in Kendal, our gateway to The Lakes.
